Today, the whole of Ugwuoke family, the Departments of Mass communication and Political Science, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, friends and well wishers, who all came together to commemorate and lay to rest the remains of Mrs. Rebecca Ukamaka Ugwuoke who passed on to glory late February at her Uwani-Edem Village in Ani Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria

‘We Jacksonites crew’ joining the whole of the 200-level Jacksonite family in the department of Mass Communication- of which one of  the deceased’s daughters Gloria Ugwuokwe is a member- went to pay condolence and sympathise with the family.

Speaking about how she felt about the passing of her mother, Gloria expressed with grieve the devastating blow of the loss. Her words, ”I don’t know why this had to happen. I know that death is something that will surely come someday, but for it to happen at this time is really painful. I pray that God let her rest in his kingdom forever.”

Speaking to the family on behalf of the Jacksonites, Odo Chidera expressed sympathy over the loss of their Mother and called on god to console them.

Commemoration (mgbaru ndi ogo) continues tomorrow according to Igbo tradition.
